The short version
You can read the whole Bible without an account. If you do not create one, your reading, notes and settings stay on your device.
If you create an account, your writing is stored so it can follow you between devices. Private notes stay private unless you choose to share them into a study. There are no public profiles, advertisements, analytics, tracking or location collection.
Who is responsible
Berean Bible Study is run by Tolulope Brown in the United Kingdom. For a privacy question or safety concern, email hello@bereanbiblestudy.app.
What an account stores
- Your email address, hashed password, display name and optional handle.
- Your reading progress, notes, highlights, journal, saved items and study answers.
- Your friendships, study memberships and invitations.
- Direct messages and contributions you deliberately share with a study.
- Feedback and safety reports you choose to send.
Supabase provides account and database hosting. Cloudflare serves the app files. Neither service receives your data for advertising.
When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks browser and connection information on account forms to prevent automated abuse. Your notes are not sent to Turnstile. Account emails may use a configured email provider. Safety-report alerts may use Resend and contain only a report identifier, not the report text or private notes.
Your choices
Settings in the app lets you export your data, correct what you wrote, delete your reading data, or permanently delete your account. Account deletion removes the sign-in and associated data. People may already have read or copied something you chose to share with them.
Storage on your device
The app uses IndexedDB, local storage and cache storage to remember your work, keep you signed in and work offline. It sets no cookies. Signing out removes the session; deleting your data or account clears the corresponding local copy.
